Program Note

This short orchestral fantasy explores themes of identity, memory, and escapism. As the composition of the piece unfolded, I imagined that it told a strange tale:

“In a distant land, in an ancient forest, you may find a tree that can relieve you of your unwanted memories. Simply sit beneath its boughs and let go – your painful moments will be stripped of their power, becoming no more than images of a story you know by heart. This tree will take your unwanted memories and absorb them into itself. But beware, if you are unable to let go and hold on to your pain, you yourself will be absorbed into the tree with your memories.”
